How did I get here?

I am in a male dominated industry. I am one of five females in our leadership team of 38.

Having a minority perspective on our leadership team is sometimes hard. We are working on showing how everyone's perspectives are important and useful in creating solutions that will grow our company into our future vision.

I wrote those words on July 2, 2023, for a write-up in the Kansas City Business Journal, where I was honored as one of that year's top CFOs. It was written a mere five days before I was demoted and ultimately decided to leave the company I had grown up in for 17 years and the career I thought I always wanted.

How did I get here?

If you want that story, you won't find it here. I won't dwell on what happened, what should have happened, or what could have happened. Instead, I want to use this blog to process the year since it happened. Using my journals, I will piece together my journey from Accountant to Coach.
